Transforming Housing: PR1MA’s New Collaboration with Huawei and SANY

Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia (PR1MA) has announced a strategic collaboration with Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Huawei Malaysia) and SANY Construction Industry Development (M) Sdn Bhd (SCID) to advance sustainable and affordable housing in Malaysia.

In a recent statement, PR1MA disclosed that it has issued a Letter of Intent to Huawei Malaysia and renewed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SCID, a subsidiary of China-based SANY Global. This partnership aims to bolster PR1MA’s efforts towards sustainable development across Malaysia, integrating advanced technologies to enhance housing projects.

The collaboration with Huawei Malaysia will be managed through PR1MA Communications Sdn Bhd (PCSB), a subsidiary of PR1MA. Huawei’s smart devices will be incorporated into PR1MA’s housing developments to improve efficiency and sustainability.

Meanwhile, the MoU with SCID, which extends an agreement signed in April 2023, focuses on enhancing cooperation in construction, human capital development, and sustainable management based on environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) principles.

“This initiative aligns with the MADANI government’s commitment to exploring potential collaborations between Malaysia and China in housing, technology, and urban planning,” stated a representative from PR1MA, an agency under the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT).

The strengthened partnership between PR1MA and SCID aims to leverage global expertise in implementing the Industrialised Building System (IBS) technology, particularly for the PR1MA City project launched in June.

Additionally, the collaboration will explore strategic cooperation in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes and the adoption of eco-friendly technologies such as solar energy systems and electric vehicles, including waste management and sanitation trucks.

PR1MA highlighted that this initiative with Huawei Malaysia and SCID is expected to introduce more innovations in the housing sector, providing long-term benefits to PR1MA residents and homebuyers. This collaboration represents a significant step towards sustainable development and improved living standards in Malaysia.
