Singapore has expressed an interest in gaining an understanding of Malaysia’s Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Industrialised Building System (IBS) initiatives through collaboration with the Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia (CIDB).

The Minister of Works, Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, stated that this interest also includes adapting BIM and IBS in the implementation of the Intelligent Transport System (ITS).

He mentioned that this matter was conveyed to him by the Minister of National Development and Minister Responsible for Social Services Integration in Singapore, Desmond Lee, during the official visit of the Singaporean leader to his office on the 10th of October.

“This interest is fully aligned with Singapore’s urban planning efforts that promote green design principles and smart technology.

In this regard, I welcome this intention and believe that a strategic collaboration can be implemented in the near future for both countries to mutually learn and share expertise for the common good,” stated Alexander in a Facebook post.
