Social Impact Assessment: A Cornerstone for Corporate Responsibility in Construction Projects

Perlis Construction Week 2023, which took place from 28 – 30 November 2023, was the first programme held in collaboration between CIDB Perlis, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) and Pusat Khidmat Kontraktor (PKK) Perlis. This programme has become an important platform for partnership, opening minds and framing the way forward to form a more sustainable country in the construction sector, especially in the northern zone of Malaysia.

By emphasising the theme of Sustainable Construction, CIDB has provided a partnership on the course of the National Sustainable Construction Programme and two (2) guidelines on resilient construction against floods and landslides by CREAM through a seminar on 30 November 2023 (Thursday). The programme’s highlight was also filled with the Forum “Industry and Academic Cooperation on the Sustainability of the Construction Industry”.

The programme was attended by the senior general manager of CIDB Malaysia Technology Development Sector, Puan Zainora Zainal, Dean of FTKA (UniMAP), Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr Che Zulzikrami Azner Abidin, Director of CIDB Perlis, Sr Rosli Zainon and State CIDB Director from the northern zone. This programme has involved industry players such as contractors, developers, consultants, academia, professionals, technical students and government agencies.
