The Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) of Malaysia celebrated the achievements of 20 distinguished figures in the construction sector with the 2023 CIDB Fellowship Award on Nov 16. Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, who presented the awards, emphasised the significance of honouring role models who have consistently contributed to the sector’s development.
The CIDB Fellowship Award, held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur, serves as a platform to acknowledge industry pioneers, recognising their efforts in championing construction excellence through various avenues. Linggi highlighted that the accolade not only celebrates their illustrious careers but also pays tribute to their decades-long experience.
The awardees, representing diverse fields such as contractors, developers, construction professionals, academia, manufacturers, and government agencies, collectively bring a wealth of experience to the construction industry.
Yusuf Abd Wahab, Chairman of CIDB Malaysia, and Datuk Mohd Zaid Zakaria, Chief Executive, were also present at the ceremony to commend the recipients.
The 2023 CIDB Fellowship Award marks the third edition of the programme. Previous editions honoured 65 industry leaders in 2015 on its 20th anniversary and recognised 46 fellows in 2018. The recent ceremony continues the tradition of acknowledging and celebrating outstanding contributions to Malaysia’s construction sector.
