Construction Industry Development Authority Malaysia (CIDB), through the Johor State CIDB Office, recently organised the Vendor Programme in collaboration with Syarikat PLUS Malaysia Berhad. This programme allows contractors to explore opportunities to become vendors PLUS Malaysia Berhad. The programme was attended by 100 contractor companies of various grades and categories.
Organising this Vendor Programme aims to provide a medium for contractors to explore the vast array of construction projects offered by PLUS Malaysia Company Berhad. This programme is a platform and a proactive step to establish joint ventures and spaces for cooperation between government and private agencies. It’s an opportunity to expand contractors’ involvement in private projects, broadening their horizons beyond government projects.
The programme was officiated by the Director of CIDB Johor, Sr Ahmad Farrin Bin Mokhtar, and attended by the Senior General Manager of PLUS Malaysia Berhad, Sr Azita Binti Mohamed Tahir, and the Director of the State Contractor Service Centre (PKK) Johor, Mrs. Suhada Binti Aman.
In his opening speech, the Director of CIDB Johor, Sr Ahmad Farrin Bin Mokhtar, emphasised the significance of this collaboration programme. It’s a testament to CIDB’s commitment to developing contractors and opening doors for them to venture into the business opportunities offered. This collaboration is beneficial and essential to the growth and expansion of small and moderate contractors in the construction industry, particularly in the private sector.
Apart from PLUS Malaysia Berhad, the Johor State Contractor Service Centre (PKK) also joined hands in making this programme successful by briefing on the Promotion of the Contractor Trust Fund Scheme (SKWAK) and business sharing sessions by several successful Bumiputera Construction Vendors.
