Under the leadership of CIDB Malaysia, an engagement session and technical visit with Silicon Island Development Berhad was successfully organised on January 15, 2025.
The engagement session raised industry awareness about Act 520 and industry development programmes. This project, one of the latest and largest initiatives, is set to significantly boost the Penang state government’s economy in the long term. It is a smart, sustainable city project and an Electrical & Engineering (E&E) Hub. The proposed master development plan is a vast undertaking, comprising 888 acres of infrastructure projects, 720 acres of industrial areas (Green Tech Park), 388.1 acres of residential areas, 139.6 acres of commercial zones, and 164.3 acres of mixed development, totalling 2,300 acres. The awarded reclaimed land to SRS TC amounts to 1,260 acres.
The engagement session was expertly led by Mr Zahidi Hashim, General Manager of the Levy Management Division, CIDB Malaysia, and joined by the experienced Penang State Director, Ms Alinda Puteh. CEO YBhg Dato’ Szeto Wai Loong, a seasoned leader, led representatives from Silicon Island Development Berhad.
