The Construction Industry Development Board of Malaysia (CIDB) through CIDB IBS Sdn. Bhd. has completed the BINA Townhall Tour Programme in Kota Bharu, officiated by the Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Works, Mr. Mohd Sakeri Bin Abdul Kadir.
The programme runs from November 2023 to July 2024 and involves over 1,207 participants from various local authorities and industries.
The event, which will be held at six locations, including Cyberjaya (Central Zone), Johor Bahru (Southern Zone), Penang (Northern Zone), Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, and Kota Bharu (Eastern Zone), aims to strengthen the implementation of the Industrialised Building System (IBS) for private construction projects, in line with the Ministry of Housing and Local Government’s Secretary-General’s Circular No. 4 of 2024, which comes into effect on July 10, 2024.
CIDB, through the Ministry of Works, is targeting at least 70 IBS scores for building plan applications for private construction projects, which is in line with the National Construction Policy 2030.
The Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Works emphasised the importance of full government and construction industry involvement and CIDB’s role in regulating the implementation of IBS by the Malaysian Construction Industry Development Authority Act 1994 (Act 520).
