Introduction Objective
The role of the facility contractor is both important as it is challenging. To be globally competitive, there is an ever-present need for a contractor’s continuous development, acquisition of more sophisticated skills, and wider knowledge of more effective work procedures in tandem with technological and socio-economic evolution.
The role of the facility contractor is challenging and important. There is an apparent need for the facility contractor to continuously grow and acquire better skills, wider knowledge and more effective work procedures in line with the advancement in technology and socio-economy so as to be globally competitive. For the purpose of improving the capabilities of the registered facility contractor, the competency level of the company director and technical officers need be first evaluated and accredited through Facility Management Manager and Facility Management Executive Accreditation Program based on competency standards that had been developed by the Board. The Board has made a requirement that only contractor companies with evaluated and accredited Company Director/Technical Officer are eligible for consideration to be registered as Facility Contractor of F01 and F02 Specialisation. However, accreditation is not confined to construction personnel involved in or, employed by a contractor, but is open to any construction personnel who are eligible and meets the requirements set by the Board. For purposes of registration with the Board for the facility contractor of F01 and F02 specialisations, it is compulsory and much encouraged for the company director and technical personnel or any other construction personnel directly involved in facility management to apply for accreditation by the Board.

Accreditation Objectives:
- Improve the quality of construction facility management implemented by qualified, accreditated and competent personnel.
- Ensuring that the Facility Manager and Executive meet the requirements of the National Occcupational Skill Standard (NOSS) or the latest standard developed by the industry.
- Fufil the registration requirements for Facility Contractor with fields coded F01 and F02.
- Provision of a systematic, registration and accreditation platform.

Applicant
Accreditation is open to all construction personnel/individual who are directly or indirectly involved in building and infrastructure facility management who fulfil eligibility requirements for application and accreditation, especially Company Directors or Technical Personnel from contracting firms that are implementing Building and General Infrastructure Facility Management, Healthcare Building Facility Management.
Accreditation Method
The Facility Management Manager Accreditation Program (FMM) is implemented in three (3) assessment modes:
- Mode I(a) – Training & Assessment,
- Mode I(b) – Assessment only, and
- Mode II (RPLE) – which is Recognition Through Level of Education and Experience (Recognition Prior Learning and Experience, RPLE).
The Modes and their Assessment processes are as follows:

Submission of working experience document and attending an interview
PASS :Â Construction Skills Competency Level 5 Certificate will be awarded.
FAIL :Â Re-apply for Mode II (RPLE) at any time (limited to twice only) or acquire accreditation via any other Mode

Successful candidates having passed through any mode will be accredited with a Level 5 Construction Skills Competency Certificate (CSCC) with the accredited Facility Management Manager’s (FMM) duties and responsibilities printed on the reverse of the certificate. Subsequently, an accredited Construction Project Manager is required to update his registration details with the Board
